Retired and undefeated, Mayweather to take on Conor McGregor in 2023

(Boxing news) Floyd Mayweather has claimed that he wants to take on Conor McGregor in an exhibition match next year. The 45 year old previously took on McGregor in 2017 and has competed in a number of exhibition matches since then. Mayweather has hinted that the Allegiant Stadium, home to the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders as a potential destination for his rematch with McGregor and the boxer will compete in another exhibition match this weekend in Japan where he will take on MMA star Mikuru Asakura.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mayweather said “We don't know if it's going to be an exhibition or a real fight. They already talked to me about my number that I'm going to receive. 9 figures. You know we gotta start at least 100 million for Floyd Mayweather." However, any possibility of this epic match was refuted by McGregor himself who took to Instagram to post a picture of their previous fight with the caption "#notinterested". Mayweather, who retired from boxing with a 50-0 record has featured in a number of exhibition matches, including one against YouTube star Logan Paul last year.

After losing to Mayweather, McGregor made a sensational comeback in the UFC but has struggled to rediscover his form that led to the Irishman becoming the UFC’s first double champion. The 34 year old has lost three of his last four UFC fights and is recovering from a broken leg he sustained in his loss to Dustin Poirier a year ago.
