Chelsea, Manchester City face away challenges; Manchester United play Arsenal in Rangnick’s first game in charge; Goodison Park hosts Merseyside derby

(Football news) The Premier League is all set to bring viewers some midweek football action. Chelsea are still top of the table despite dropping points against Manchester United who are still outside the top 6.

After their disappointing draw at Old Trafford, Chelsea travel to Watford in search of 3 points. Thomas Tuchel will have both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner fit for the first time since 21st October. Mateo Kovacic is yet to recover from his injury while Ben Chilwell is expected to be out for a long time after his ACL injury. N'Golo Kante's availability is doubtful which might give Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Saul Niguez another chance in the center of the park. Watford could be very short in attacking options as both Ismaila Sarr and Emmanuel Dennis are doubtful for the clash

Manchester City play Aston Villa away from home. Aston Villa will come into the game on the back of 2 back to back wins under new manager Steven Gerrard. City will be without Kevin De Bruyne and Aymeric Laporte while Jack Grealish and Phil Foden are doubtful. Manchester City are on a 5 game win streak after their 2-1 win against West Ham and will be looking to continue on the same route.

Liverpool and Everton will go head to head in the first Merseyside derby of the season. Everton have lost 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5 league games as they sit 14th on the table. Liverpool on the other hand are just one point behind table toppers Chelsea. Liverpool will be without Roberto Firmino, Harvey Elliot, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and Joe Gomez while Everton will be missing Mason Holgate, Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes, Tom Davies and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Tottenham Hotspur will host Brentford in a must win game. A win for Spurs could take them into the top 6 with a game in hand. Their last game at Burnley was called off after a snow storm which meant that Antonio Conte's men had to wait to get back to winning ways after their Conference League loss against Mura. Brentford are currently punching above their weight in their first ever Premier League season as they sit 12th on the table and a win would take them above Spurs.

Ralf Rangnick might be in charge of Manchester United against Arsenal, subject to his work visa approval. The Gunners are in decent form and will be a difficult challenge for whoever is in charge, whether it's Carrick or Rangnick. Arsenal could go 8 points above Manchester United with a win. Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane are still out due to injuries while Luke Shaw is doubtful. Arsenal will be without Granit Xhaka and Saed Kolasinac. Bukayo Saka's inclusion is doubtful.
