Serie A: AC Milan face giant killers Sassuolo as Napoli face Lazio in a tough fixture, Juventus take on Atalanta

(Football news) Juventus are set to face Atalanta in Turin with the hosts seeking to make up lost ground on their rivals. Though the Bianconeri have already qualified thanks to previous matches, they were thumped by Chelsea in the Champions League but have won both of their last two league games. The visitors sit fourth after a six-game unbeaten run. Signs of a revival for Juve are possibly emerging as over their last nine league matches, Juventus have gained 19 points one more than Atalanta and only fewer than Milan and Napoli during that period. Juventus will be bolstered by the return of captain Giorgio Chiellini and Federico Bernardeschi as Paulo Dybala can also start for the Bianconeri. For Atalanta, the injury crisis increases as wingbacks Roben Gosens and Hans Hateboer are yet to return to training.

Inter Milan are coming off two very important games against Napoli and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League and will be looking to take that confidence against Venezia. The reigning champions seek to close the gap further to the teams at the top with a victory against Venezia. The key to their success has been a rampant attack who have barely missed Lukaku during the opening months of the season. Only Bayern Munich and Liverpool have netted more goals than Inter's 32 in the top five leagues this season so far. They have also scored in each of their last 16 league matches on the road, with their previous best streaks being 17 during 2002, and a run of 18 some 70 years ago. For Inter, Stefan De Vrij and Alexis Sanchez both remain sidelined for this fixture with a hamstring injury.

AC Milan face giant killers Sassuolo as the Rossenari will look to get back to winning ways and reclaim the lead at the top of Serie A. There are no surprises here that AC Milan are the firm favorites in head-to-head clashes, having celebrated a victory on nine occasions so far; Sassuolo have grabbed a triumph five times to this day, and the remaining two matches have ended in a draw. Their most recent game was played on April 21, 2021, when the Neroverdi surprised the Rossoneri with a late 2-1 thriller win away in Milan in the 2020/21 Serie A season. For AC Milan Zlatan will be fit for the clash as Poli will look to rotate his squad a bit after a hard fought victory over Atletico Madrid.

Current Serie A leaders Napoli take on Lazio, after enduring a tough week with defeats to Inter and Spartak Moscow in the Europa League, Spalletti’s side will be looking to bounce back against a very well drilled Lazio side. In the head to head, Napoli have won 12 of their last 16 games against Lazio in the Serie A (D1 L3), as many as in their previous 34 matches against the Biancocelesti in the Italian top-flight (D9 L13). After the defeat against Inter in the last league match, Napoli could lose two consecutive Serie A games for the first time since December 2020  on that occasion the two teams that beat them were Inter and Lazio. For Napoli, the injury crisis is increasing as the likes of Victor Osimhen are out for more then three months, along with that Zambo Anguissa, Kostas Manolas, Matteo Politano and Diego Demme are set to miss out with injury.
