Bundesliga: Bayern look to extend lead with win over Hoffenheim while Dortmund aims to exert pressure on league leaders

(Football news) With all the midweek fixtures out of the way, Bayern will be looking to extend their lead with a victory over Hoffenheim, Dortmund on the other hand will look to maintain pressure on top with a victory as well. RB Leipzig will be hoping to brush off their midweek defeat to PSG and look to win this weekend as well.

Bayern take on in-form Hoffenheim as Nagelsmann’s side will try to get to their ruthless best after a hard fought victory over Benfica in the Champions League. The only worry heading into the fixture would be the injury concern for Alphonso Davis as he picked a minor thigh injury midweek, Robert Lewandowski will be looking to continue his exceptional goal scoring run against Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann scoring 17 times against him. It could also be a history night for Manuel Neuer as he could land his 300th victory here, the only player in league history ever to break that landmark was Oliver Kahn (317). Hoffenhiem coming into the game willbe high on confidence as they won 5-0 against Koln as Kramaric and Bebou were on fire and will again hold the key if they are to cause an upset.

Dortmund take on Arminia in what is an important match for Marco Rose and co. Dortmund will be under a bit of pressure as they got thrashed by Ajax in the Champions League 4-0, a positive response is needed from the players and coaches. The problem with Dortmund this year has been the consistency as they haven’t been able to make a run of consecutive victories in order to gain momentum and confidence ahead of another potential title push. As for injuries, Dortmund will be without Reyna and Dahoud as Erling Haaland looks fit and firing in all cylinders for the yellow army.

RB Leipzig take on newly promoted side Fruth in what is a must win match for Jesse Marsch. For Leipzig, they will be without Lukas Klosterman as he picked a thigh injury against PSG midweek, although Leipzig is unbeaten in four bundesliga games they need a string of victories to propel into the top four. Leverkusen take on struggling Koln in hope to bounce back after losing to Bayern 5-1. Leverkusen will be hoping Florian Wirtz and Schick lift the team from last week's disappointment and get back to winning ways, in order to challenge for the Champions League places.
