Joshua Kimmich has put his future in doubt, although the renowned German goalie has declared that he will remain with the Bavarian team for the forthcoming campaign.

As Bayern Munich prepares for the upcoming season, a lot of concerns surround them. As the club’s top brass tackles the difficult task of putting together a competitive roster for the 2025–2026 season, the future of a number of important players in the squad is still up in the air.

Since January, Sven Ulreich, Eric Dier, Alphonso Davies, Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané, Joshua Kimmich, and Manuel Neuer have been free to negotiate with other clubs since their contracts expire at the end of the current campaign. However, in an interview with “Sport1,” Neuer, the captain and starting goalie, has already spoken his opinion and confirmed his intention to stay: “That’s accurate. “I’m going to sign a new contract with Bayern soon,” the goalie said. The two sides’ historic partnership, which has existed since 2011, will be further cemented with this new contract, which will extend his employment by one more season, until 2026.

Joshua Kimmich is in a different circumstance. In remarks to “Sky,” the German midfielder, who has played a significant role in Bayern’s victories over the last ten years, was less certain about his future: “I have had a conversation with the club. I won’t overburden myself with expectations. However, Kimmich promised that a choice must be taken in the upcoming months. “Of course, there are a lot of good reasons to renew,” he continued. I have to weigh all the options and decide.” Unlike his goalkeeper, his future does not seem as certain. The player has really been strongly connected to a number of clubs as possible future destinations, including FC.

Although they appear to have been ongoing, the midfielder’s negotiations with the famous German club have not been clear up to this point. The same is true for another player who has given the Munich management trouble, Alphonso Davies. Real Madrid is still looming in the background, therefore his continuation is still uncertain.

In light of all of this, the upcoming months are expected to be extremely hectic in Allianz Arena’s offices due to the necessity to closely monitor the transfer market and the various contracts that are still pending.
