Since joining the team prior to the start of this season, Luis Suarez has scored 25 goals in all competitions.

Luis Suarez, a former striker for Barcelona and Uruguay, has agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Major League Soccer team. The team announced that Suarez will play next season under new coach Javier Mascherano.

Since joining the team before to the start of this season, the 37-year-old striker has scored 25 goals across all competitions, including 20 during Miami’s historic regular season performance.

Miami was knocked from the playoffs in the first round by Atlanta United, despite having a new points total and winning the Supporters’ Shield for the greatest regular season record.

Mascherano announced on Tuesday that Argentina’s head coach, Gerardo Martino, had since departed the team with his compatriot and Suarez’s former teammate at Barca.

“I’m thrilled and thrilled to be here for another year with this fan base, who are like family to us. We have a strong bond with them, and we want to be able to make them even happier next year,” Suarez said.

Raul Sanllehi, head of football operations at Miami, stated that Suarez had demonstrated that he was still a top-tier forward and an important member of the team’s locker room.

In addition to being our top scorer this season, Luis led the team. It is impossible to overstate his influence,” he remarked.

In September, Suarez declared his retirement from Uruguay’s national team after racking up 69 goals in 143 outings. Before joining Miami, the attacker spent a season with Gremio in Brazil and played for Ajax, Liverpool, and Atletico Madrid in Europe.
