Hansi Flick, the manager of Barcelona, provided an update on Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo’s fitness on Friday.

Due to injury concerns that have prevented them from playing at all this season, the two defenders are still out.

Although it was revealed that Christensen had surgery this week to treat his persistent Achilles injury, Flick downplayed how serious the problem was.

The German said that following Saturday’s game against Celta Vigo, Araujo ought to resume full training with the squad.

“I am unable to confirm Christensen and Araujo’s playing times. According to what we’ve been informed, his surgery went well. Although it was a minor operation, I believe it was significant,” he told reporters.

And on Sunday, Araujo will join us. We will be able to bring him in even though he is not entirely fit for training.

Even though Christensen might not return until early 2025, it is hoped that Araujo will make his season debut before the year ends.
