Bangladesh has now lost both the test by 2-0 and the T20I series by 2-0 (one match yet to happen) against India, where their batters have significantly suffered.

(Cricket news) Bangladesh’s standout performer, Taskin Ahmed, urges the Bangladesh Cricket Board to improve the conditions of pitches at home, which has been the primary reason for Bangladesh’s repentance performance in India as the hosts ascended both their bowling and batting.

Taskin also quoted that there is significant room for improvement in the players as well, as Bangladesh isn’t a team where 1 or 2 players can make the game for them or take them over the line, 80% of the team’s XI needs to fall in place and give their best to experience the desired outcome. The current situation is otherwise, where players depend upon the exercised batters with the likes of Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Mahmadulah.

If a team loses, its top 5 in the shortest format, then there’s not much the rest of the players can do as the fast-paced game needs a settled and bluntly scoring batters at the top who can hold the collapse and build a partnership that’ll post a huge total by the end of the innings. That’s exactly what Indian batters are good at, Rinku Singh and Nitish Reddy steadied India’s innings after a mini-collapse of 41/3, where India needed someone to take charge and keep the innings going forward.

The 108-run stand was the major setback for Bangladesh’s bowlers, where the spinners bowled 8 overs and conceded 14.50 runs an over; on the other hand, the pacers were combined for 102 runs in 12 overs and also did damage of 6 wickets. Medidy Hasan, Rishad Hossain, and Mahmadullah, who bowled just a single over for 15 runs, were seen missing their lengths throughout the innings that gave an upper hand to the middle-order batters to set on the crease and then move the game with their pace.

Taskin further iterated the pitch conditions at home by stating, that Indian batters have the experience of posting 200+ totals and know how to chase them because of the IPL and the pitches they play on, they have been playing on such pitches since their childhood and now they are used to those 180-200 totals that are 140-150 for us back in Bangladesh.

This summarises the current scenario of  Bangladesh’s side, who will have to fight more hard in the last T20I in Hyderabad to end the tournament on a high, which is only possible if their top-order stabilizes and tries to score above 180-190 if put to bat first on a pitch that will be the batter’s friend and would need to get their act together as a team instead depending on their experienced colleagues.
