Ebadot to rehab in India along with Bangladesh’s T20 squad

Prior to the three-match series that begins on October 6, injured pace bowler Ebadot Hossain and the other members of the Bangladesh T20 squad left Dhaka on Tuesday, October 1. The pacer has been out thus far due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury he sustained during the July 2023 ODI series against Afghanistan. The injury necessitated surgery, forcing him out of the game.

Shahriar Nafees, the cricket operation in charge of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, announced on Tuesday that the bowler will not be participating in the series; instead, he will continue his recovery under the strict supervision of the team management.

“Ebadot is going with the team as he will continue his rehabilitation program in India,” Shahriar said on Tuesday. “Let me explain the situation at the moment, the Tigers Program is closed as everyone is released to join their respective First-class teams. The Tiger management worked for three to three and half months. Ebadot is going with the team as Bayzid Bhai( national team physio) will assess him along with Nathan Kelly( trainer),” he said.

“He is not going to play, he is going there to further continue his rehabilitation program as per the request of the national team because there is the bowling coach and others who want to see him from close quarters,” he added.

Bangladesh is scheduled to play three T20 Internationals in Gwalior on October 6, Delhi on October 9, and Hyderabad on October 12. Fast bowler Shoriful Islam of Bangladesh stated that his team still has a good chance of winning the series despite lacking several key players.

“We are practicing for a long time and now let’s see what happens now,” Shoriful told reporters before leaving Dhaka on Tuesday. “I think the team is good and if we can play to our potential we can produce good results,” he said.
