Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Abhimanyu Easwaran have been selected skipper of the four Duleep Trophy sides. The opening round of the competition will feature the majority of the players from India’s senior squads, except Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya. The selectors have not chosen R Ashwin in addition to these four players, while Mohammed Shami is still undergoing recovery.

Team A, which includes the likes of Riyan Parag, KL Rahul, Shivam Dube, and Kuldeep Yadav, will be led by Gill. Washington Sundar, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, are a part of Easwaran-led Team B. Nitish Reddy, the Andhra all-rounder, is also a part of the team, however, his participation is contingent on his level of fitness.

Rajat Patidar, Sai Sudharsan, and Suryakumar Yadav are among the players who are a part of Gaikwad’s Team C bolstering the batting order. Ishan Kishan makes his anticipated comeback and is selected for Team D, which is captained by Iyer. Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and Devdutt Padikkal are some of the other key members of the team.

The players chosen to represent India in the home Test series against Bangladesh would be replaced in the Duleep Trophy squads, the BCCI has officially confirmed. The tournament is scheduled to begin on September 5 at Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, with the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru selected as the host venue. On September 22, the first-class tournament will come to an end.
