“We’re excited to be involved in our first Top End T20 Series, which has grown a lot in recent years.

“Our squad is young but there’s no shortage of talent. This tournament presents an awesome opportunity for the guys to test themselves in a new environment.

“The conditions in Darwin are a little different to what we face in Perth, so I’m looking forward to seeing how we handle that challenge against a range of quality sides.

“We also see this tournament as an opportunity for Jhye (Richardson) and Kells (Matt Kelly) to find touch in a competitive environment. They didn’t play a lot of cricket last year but they’re a big part of what we do at the Scorchers and WA, so we’re looking forward to seeing both of them back in action.
“Sam deserves his opportunity to captain the side. He’s been part of the program at WA for a few years now and has developed nicely as a player and leader, so we’re very confident he’ll perform well in the role.” Perth Scorchers squad for the Top End T20 Series:Sam Fanning (Perth) ©
