DUBLIN – Ireland Women are back in action this month for their first of two home white-ball series – the first set of fixtures being against the newly-crowned Asia Cup champions, Sri Lanka.
The series is a five-match, multi-format series to be played between 11 and 20 August 2024. This is the first time the two sides have met in a competitive bilateral series, having met only six times previous.

This is the first-ever bilateral series between the two sides – Ireland and Sri Lanka first played against each other competitively in 2010, with Sri Lanka having won five times and one no result:

- 20 Mar 2016: Sri Lanka v Ireland (T20I; ICC Women’s T20 World Cup) – Sri Lanka won by 14 runs
- 27 Jul 2013: Ireland v Sri Lanka (T20I; ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier) – Sri Lanka won by 8 wickets
- 28 Apr 2011: Sri Lanka v Ireland (ODI; Women’s Quadrangular Series) – No result
- 14 Oct 2010: Ireland v Sri Lanka (T20I; ICC Women’s Cricket T20 Challenge) – Sri Lanka won by 11 runs

The two sides met in a warm-up match for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2018, which Ireland won by 8 wickets.
