Imad Wasim Announces Retirement from International Cricket

(Cricket News) The 34-year-old bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced his decision to retire from international cricket, which is huge news coming from Pakistan cricket. He made the announcement on his X handle and thanked PCB, all of his teammates, and the fans for their support throughout his international career.

Imad was a left-arm orthodox spinner and left-handed batsman who was highly skilled at both power hitting and accuracy with the ball. He participated in the T20 World Cup in 2016 and 2021, and he was captain of Pakistan’s team in the 2008 U-19 World Cup. He was also a member of the Pakistani team that won the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Imad Wasim played in 55 ODIs, scoring 986 runs at a very respectable average of 42.86 while taking 44 wickets with the ball in hand. In 66 T20I matches, he has taken 65 wickets, but his batsmanship was limited to 486 runs at an average of 15.18. Wasim’s final ODI match was against Zimbabwe in 2020, and his final T20I match was against New Zealand in Rawalpindi in 2023.

Imad Wasim, on the other hand, has made a name for himself in T20 franchise cricket over the years. He has played 31 T20 matches in his career to date and is expected to add more now that he has announced his retirement from international cricket. Wasim is a regular in T20 leagues all over the world.
