Newcastle United will play Bournemouth in Premier League

Eddie Howe will be celebrating yet another homecoming at Vitality Stadium on Saturday night as Newcastle United travels south to play Bournemouth in the Premier League's evening kickoff
Newcastle

(Football news) Both teams are trying to recover from heartbreaking defeats; the Magpies lost 2-0 against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, while the Cherries were destroyed 6-1 by Manchester City in their most recent match.

Fans of Bournemouth were not aware that they had actually reserved front-row seats for the Jeremy Doku show when they bought their tickets for the team’s journey to Man City’s Etihad fortress last weekend. The great Belgian tore Andoni Iraola’s team to pieces in gameweek 11.

On the half-hour mark, Doku broke the deadlock. As the clock ran out, he provided a staggering four assists: two for Phil Foden, one for Manuel Akanji, and one for Bernardo Silva. Additionally, former Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake had time to add salt to the wounds with a demolition job.

On a miserable afternoon, both in terms of the weather and the outcome, the traveling Cherries supporters had only a Luis Sinisterra consolation to cheer about. Iraola’s team had just ended October with their first Premier League victory of the season, a 2-1 victory over Burnley.

The hosts, who also lost to Liverpool in the fourth round of the EFL Cup last week, are currently in the relegation zone due to their inferior goal differential against Luton Town. Even though they broke their league record in their most recent Vitality match, their meager record of four goals scored at home is still tied for the worst in the division.

If Burnley and Sheffield United defeat Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion, respectively, Bournemouth will find themselves at the bottom of the standings going into the international break. Despite this, Iraola should still be in the Vitality dugout following the third break of the season, as there have been rumours that he may be fired.
