Cristiano Ronaldo spoke at a panel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to commemorate the country’s hosting of the first Esports World Cup in 2024. At the ceremony, the Al-Nassr forward also met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman.

“An honour to meet again with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman and great to be part of this panel today discussing the future of esports and the launch of the first ever #esportsworldcup that will be held in Saudi Arabia next year!” he stated in a tweet.

The Esports globe Cup will be an annual event that will feature the most popular games in the globe as well as the largest prize pool in esports competition history.

The affluent Gulf kingdom is set to be selected host of the 2030 FIFA World Cup as part of its efforts to become a significant player in global sport. There has also been discussion about hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2035.
