(Football news) In order to complete a deal for the 23-year-old, Bassey will have a physical at Craven Cottage. Fulham is confident in their ability to do so. It’s uncertain if Fulham will reduce their interest in Southampton’s Mohammed Salisu as a result of the Bassey acquisition.

Despite having Salisu on the table for £15 million, Fulham may now decide that Bassey is adequate for the centre-back position. Raul Jimenez agreed to a £5.5 million transfer from Wolves to Craven Cottage and signed a two-year deal with Fulham, with an option for an additional year.

Aleksandar Mitrovic cannot be replaced by Jimenez, and Fulham will try to acquire a different striker if their Serbian talisman decides to join Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. Fulham and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi have also reached a personal agreement, however the Blues’ £10 million asking price has not been met.

Hudson-Odoi’s contract calls for him to earn over £120,000 a week in the final year, therefore Fulham is hoping to reach a deal on a price. This summer, Marco Silva is also looking for a new full-back, and his £3.5 million offer for Fode Ballo-Toure of AC Milan has been accepted. Silva has choices, though, and is deliberating slowly despite competition for Ballo-Toure from Bologna, Nice, and Werder Bremen.
