Manchester City look to make it 11 Premier League wins in a row

Manchester City will take on relegation-threatened Everton at Goodison Park
Manchester City

(Football news) Manchester City are cruising towards a third consecutive Premier League title. Pep Guardiola’s men have won their last 10 Premier League matches and are now searching for an 11th consecutive win. Midweek, Manchester City drew at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid. Guardiola has to make sure that the players don’t start to think about the 2nd leg just yet. Everton have improved under Sean Dyche as they proved it with a 5-1 win away at Brighton last week. The Toffees are still not out of the relegation zone and a win against City will do them a world of good.

Manchester City have a fully fit squad apart from Nathan Ake whose injury may keep him out. Pep Guardiola may choose to rest some of his players ahead of the 2nd leg. However, they cannot afford to lose this game with Arsenal on their tail. Goodison Park is a very difficult place to go especially when the team is battling relegation. Everton will be without Andros Townsend, Ben Godfrey and Ruben Vinagre. Sean Dyche will definitely play in his old rigid 4-4-2 which will make things difficult for Manchester City. If Everton manage to be solid in defence then City will get desperate which could result in a mishap.

City would’ve loved to play the match on a Saturday just like their UCL opponents Real Madrid but due to the Eurovision Song Contest being held in Liverpool on Saturday, the match has to be played on Sunday. City have enough squad depth to beat Everton with the 2nd string team but it will be a huge gamble on Pep Guardiola’s part. Goodison Park will be absolutely buzzing and if Everton somehow manage to score first then it could be a frustrating night for Manchester City.
