(Football news) Marco Reus and Borussia Dortmund are often mentioned in the same bracket. The player and the club share a special bond over the years. While all of Reus’ teammates left the club majority of them for rivals Bayern Munich, Marco Reus always stayed loyal to Borussia Dortmund. Now the love affair is set to continue for another year as a new deal has been signed.
The Dortmund captain is 33 years old and he is likely to sign a few more contracts with the club if his performances don’t drop drastically. Marco Reus said about his extension “I’m happy to have extended my contract for another year, I always said I would prefer not to play for another club in my career than Dortmund.”
Marco Reus has been a great servant for Borussia Dortmund for the last 11 years. His career has been hampered with injuries but the quality has always been there. At this point Reus isn’t a guaranteed starter for the club but he is still the captain and leader of the dressing room. By the looks of it Jude Bellingham is all set to leave Dortmund after this season.
It is very crucial that Reus stays at the club from the point of view of all the young players at the club. Marco Reus has won 2 DFB Pokal Cups and 3 DFL Super Cups but never has he won the Bundesliga. Now Dortmund have a very good chance of lifting the trophy as they are 1 point clear of Bayern Munich with 5 games left.
