(Football news) Mauricio Pochettino is currently in talks with Chelsea for a managerial role at Stamford Bridge. The former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham manager is one of five candidates at this stage of the process and the Blues are reportedly big fans of the Argentine, having enquired about his availability when Thomas Tuchel left the club in September.

Pochettino is expected to assess his options in the summer and he’s preparing for the right opportunity. The Argentine has been out of work since his departure from Paris Saint-German in July 2022 and has been approached by Real Madrid twice. Chelsea are currently being led by interim manager Frank Lampard until the end of the season and Pochettino looks like a good option for the Blues, especially considering that he will be content with the players already at his disposal.

Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has also been linked to Chelsea and met with the club’s representatives last week. Talks between the two parties have been positive but Chelsea will take their time before appointing a permanent successor to Graham Potter. It’s only a matter of when and not if Nagelsmann manages in the Premier League, but it’ll be interesting to see if he joins Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
