(Football news) Inter Milan haven’t played a UEFA Champions League semi final since 2010 where they won the competition. Now they have a golden opportunity to do so and they have a 2 goal advantage along with the home advantage against Benfica. At the weekend the Nerazzurri lost at home to Monza which puts their UCL qualification doubtful. Simone Inzaghi rested the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu, Lautaro Martinez, Marcelo Brozovic, Edin Dzeko and Francesco Acerbi for that game so that they are well rested for this clash.

Benfica on the weekend lost 1-0 to Chavea at home which was their 3rd consecutive loss. They are still 4 points clear on top of the league but Porto are just behind. Nicolas Otamendi who was suspended for the first leg will be back for this clash. Mihailo Ristic is back from injury but Julian Draxler and Alexander Bah are still unavailable. Portuguese duo Goncalo Ramos and Joao Mario who both have 17 goals each in all competitions this season will hold the key for this fixture. The pair will be expected to lead from the front to give Benfica any hope.

Inter are heavy favorites to go through but Benfica are capable of pulling off a miracle. They will need an early goal to stun San Siro but it will be very difficult against a determined Inter Milan side. Simone Inzaghi has a choice between Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku up front. Inter Milan’s midfield will be the key as they will be hoping to control the game and not let Benfica dictate terms. Stefan de Vrij got injured against Monza so he will be unavailable while Milan Skriniar is a long term absentee.
