Napoli to try and overturn a 1 goal deficit against AC Milan

Napoli will take on AC Milan at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium as Victor Osimhen is set to return
Napoli vs AC Milan

(Football news) The first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter finals between AC Milan and Napoli went the Rossoneri’s way. Milan won 1-0 at the San Siro thanks to Ismael Bennacer’s first half goal. Napoli failed to score in a draw against Hellas Verona on the weekend while Milan also drew 1-1 away against Bologna.

The last time these two teams met at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium was just 15 days ago where Napoli were hammered 4-0. This time around stakes are higher as it is a Champions League knockout game. Napoli have never played in the UCL semi final Milan haven’t played one since 2007 when they went on to win the trophy.

The big news for Napoli is that Victor Osimhen is back from injury. He played 17 minutes against Hellas Verona and his return is a massive boost for Gli Azzurri. Kim Min-jae is suspended after getting a 3rd yellow card of the UCL season at San Siro. Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa was shown a red card in the return leg hence he will also be unavailable.

Giovanni Simeone is the only player who is absent due to an injury. As for Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the only absentee and he may not have played even if he was available. Stefano Pioli rested all of his first choice players on the weekend so the squad will be raring to go in this important game.

In the first leg Napoli were very average in the final third but this time around they will have Victor Osimhen. The biggest issue for Napoli is that Milan are deadly on the counter. Rafael Leao has been in incredible form all season and he will be a menace. The absence of Kim Min-Jae is a massive one as he is the rock of Napoli’s defense.

Wingers Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Hirving Lozano will be looking to put on a better display than they did in the first leg. The Diego Armando Maradona Stadium will definitely be roaring for their team and an early goal for Napoli will be chatastrohic for Milan.
