(Football news) Atletico Madrid travelled to Vallecas and were victorious over Rayo Vallecano by 1-2 courtesy of goals scored by their defenders Nahuel Molina and Mario Hermoso. Atletico’s goalkeeper Jan Oblak made history as he played his 390th game for Los Colchoneros. By playing his 390th game Jan became the foreign player with the most number of appearances as he surpassed Diego Godin (389), Angel Correa (364), Filipe Luiz (333), Antoine Griezmann (331) and Perea (314).
Oblak Joined Ateltico in 2014 at the age of 21 and made his debut in that very season in UEFA Champions League against Olympiacos.
With Atletico Madrid, Oblak has won 4 titles which include one La Liga (2020/21), one Europa League and one European Super Cup both in 2018 and one Spanish Super Cup in 2014. Jan Oblak has some individual mentions like he was included in the UEFA Champions League teams in 2015/16 and 2016/17. He was mentioned in the Europa league team in 2017/18. He has won five Zamora cups in 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2020/21. He was also named as MVP of the season in LaLiga in the 2020/21 campaign.
After his 390th appearance, Oblak became the tenth highest player with the most number of appearances for Atletico de Madrid.
