(Football news) The former Atlético de Madrid player, Sime Vrsaljko, has shocked the world as he announced today that he has decided to hang up his boots at the tender age of 31 years of age as his career was marked by injuries that prevented him from reaching his best level.

The right back is a World Cup runner-up with Croatia in 2018 as he joined Atletico Madrid team in 2016 when they paid 14 million euros to Sassuolo for him at the age of 24 years who arrived with the mission of taking over from then right back Juanfran. But soon the injuries began to hinder his continuity in the team and in 2018 he left Simone’s side to join Inter on loan.

His time at Inter was hampered by injuries as he suffered a torn ligament which kept him off the pitch for several months. He later went to Olimpiacos, after rejecting the offer to renew his contract with Atletico as he played over 100 games. With the Greek team he only played three league games and six games in European competition before announcing his final withdrawal from the pitch. He plans to become a FIFA agent to continue as he wants to be linked to the world of football.

Vrsaljko was one of the most important members of the Croatian national team, as they finished runner ups in Russia in 2018. He started to suffer from injuries at the same time as he was not getting the right opportunity to play, so he decided to announce his international retirement .Noe Vrsaljko, who has been with  Slovenian model and influencer Kaja Vidmar for a long time as they have already started a new business. He went to university to get his degree as both of them have started a Universal Twenty Two agency.
