(Football news) The World Cup group stage is in its last phase and it is truly make or break time right now. Two Round of 16 ties – Netherlands vs USA and England vs Senegal have already been confirmed. Group C is in an interesting situation wherein any of the 4 teams can top the group and anyone can be eliminated. The clash between Argentina and Poland will be a very spicy one between former Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi and current Barcelona talisman Robert Lewandowski.

Argentina were considered by a lot of people to be favorites to win the 2022 World Cup. Their shocking loss against Saudi Arabia in the first match was a major setback. A 2-0 win over Mexico in the do or die match was very crucial. Now they face a Poland team that has defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0. If Poland wins this game then they will finish on top while Argentina will be eliminated. If the game is a draw then Poland will go through while Argentina’s fate will depend on the other result. If Argentina do win the game then they will go through while Poland will need Saudi Arabia to not win against Mexico.

In the midst of all this both the teams will definitely be giving it their all to win the contest and make it to the 2022 World Cup Round of 16. Argentina haven’t displayed their true level in the 2 matches so far and if they play up to their potential then Poland will have no chance. Keeping Angel Di Maria and Lionel Messi quiet for 90 minutes is going to be a big challenge for the Polish defense. Argentina’s manager will have to make some tough calls in midfield and defense to select the best possible combination. Argentina are likely to have the majority of the possession but Poland have the ability to strike on the counter.
