2025 Sporting Calendar: Key Tournaments

After 2024, which was marked by the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris and the men’s UEFA Euro, 2025 is expected to be a major year for football, with the Women’s Euro Championship taking place from July 2 to July 27 and the men’s Nations League ending on June 8.

With both and Atletico Madrid taking part, football will also see the debut of the new Club World Cup, which will run from June 15 to July 13. It will be a European Championship year for basketball; the women’s competition will be held from June 18 to June 29 and the men’s tournament from August 27 to September 14.

The Ryder Cup, the top team golf competition, will take place in 2025 from September 26 to September 28 if the Sailing America’s Cup is held in 2024. The 2023 championship will be defended by Europe at Bethpage Black Course, which is close to New York City. In its last two hosting editions, the United States has emerged victorious.

In addition, there will be world championships in swimming, alpine skiing and snowboarding, and an indoor and outdoor double athletics competition. Furthermore, the International Olympic Committee will have a new president in 2025.

31. Football: Munich (GER) hosts the Champions League final.
