(Cricket News) In 2024, Indian cricket fans can expect yet another exciting year as the men’s and women’s teams look to build on their successes from the previous year. The Rohit Sharma-led team made history by winning 10 straight games to qualify for the summit match of the ODI World Cup.
The men’s team will have the opportunity to end India’s long-standing trophy drought with the upcoming T20 World Cup tournaments among the numerous home matches and tours. The last time the country lifted an ICC trophy was in 2013, when MS Dhoni guided the team to an England Champions Trophy victory.
The men’s team for India will also be aiming to continue their successful run in the World Test Championship, with January expected to be a busy month for the Test regulars. In addition to trying to salvage the current South Africa Test series, in which they are trailing 0-1 following a humiliating innings loss in Centurion last week, India will play England in a five-match T20I series at home, which is the team’s final warm-up match before the T20 World Cup in June.
