(Sports News) Daniel Vettori, the ex-captain of New Zealand’s cricket team, has been designated as the head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), as the team aims to reverse a lackluster performance in IPL 2023, culminating in a bottom-place finish on the points table.

During IPL 2023, Sunrisers concluded the season in the tenth position, managing only four victories while facing ten defeats.

Taking over from Brian Lara, Daniel Vettori assumes the position of head coach. Prior to the 2023 IPL season, Brian Lara had succeeded Tom Moody as the head coach of Sunrisers.

“We extend our farewell to Brian Lara as our two-year partnership concludes. We express our gratitude for his contributions to the Sunrisers. We send our best wishes for his upcoming pursuits,” stated Sunrisers.

Aged 44, Vettori formerly held the position of head coach at Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2014 to 2018, and he recently served as an assistant coach for the Australia men’s cricket team.
