India’s Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary fail to qualify for medal round in 10m Pistol Mixed Event

(Shooting news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: After a disappointing Day 4 at the Tokyo Olympics, things didn’t start too well for Indian Olympic contingent as shooters Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary failed to qualify for the medal round in the 10m Pistol Mixed Event. The pair finished qualification in the 7th position with a total of 380 points as Manu Bhaker was particularly disappointing, dropping 14 points in two series.

The day’s events started with Qualification 1 of the 10m Pistol Mixed Event and both Bhaker and Chaudhary qualified strongly while Yashaswini Singh Deswal and Abhishek Verma failed to progress. India’s only shooting hope rests with the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Event where Elavenil Valarivan and Divyansh Singh Panwar are all set to be the first team while Anjum Moudgil will team up with Deepak Kumar.

China’s R. Jiang and W. Pang qualified for the 10m Pistol Mixed Event in first place with 387 points followed by Russian Olympic Committee’s V. Batsarashkina and A. Chernousov with 386 points. Third place went to Ukraine’s O. Omelchuk and O. Kostevych with 386 points followed by Serbia’s D. Mikec and Z. Arunovic with 384 points.
