NorthEast United FC was defeated 2-1 by ATK Mohun Bagan in Imphal

The remainder of the game was played with the squad maintaining strong defensive organisation, and the Highlanders were forced to rely on a late goal from their star player Parthib Gogoi to salvage some honour from the defeat. Only after coming off the bench to beat ATKMB goalie Syed Zahid Hossain, Gogoi, who did not start the game, was able to score.

SAI-RC and Classic Football Academy (Classic FA) drew 1-1 in the second game. With a goal in the 20th minute alone, SAI-RC’s captain Kharibam Pravananda Meitei gave his team the lead early in the game. However, in the 86th minute, attacker Chinkhoisam Dimngel scored to give Classic FA the lead once more.

With four points after the goal, Classic FA are able to maintain their lead over ATK Mohun Bagan and NorthEast United FC, who are closely behind them in second and third place in the group standings. In the rankings, SAI-RC is in the last spot as they are still looking for their first victory of the season.
