Arsenal and Manchester United rolled back the years as they played out a classic game
Arsenal Vs Manchester United

(Football news) It has been a while since the Premier League has witnessed a fiery match between Arsenal and Manchester United. In the late 90s and early 2000s, Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsenal under Arsene Wenger played out some incredible matches. Over the last decade or so the two clubs have not been at the top of their powers but on Sunday the match looked like the old days as it was two incredible teams playing quality football in search of 3 points.

Manchester United were without Casemiro which was a huge miss and Erik ten Hag took a big gamble. The Dutchman played a double pivot of Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen ahead of Fred which was an offensive selection. Wout Weghorst started up front with Marcus Rashford and Antony on the wing. Arsenal on the other hand lined up in their usual 4-2-3-1 as expected. Oleksandr Zinchenko was preferred to Kieran Tierney at left back while new signing Leandro Trossard made it to the bench.

The game was played at a high tempo from the very first minute. It was Manchester United who landed the first blow via Marcus Rashford who scored from miles out after going past Thomas Partey in the 17th minute. Seven minutes later Arsenal grabbed the equalizer as Eddie Nketiah headed home Granit Xhaka’s cross. In the 53rd minute Bukayo Saka scored from 25 yards out to give Arsenal the lead. It took Manchester United just 6 minutes to equalize as Aaron Ramsdale fumbled a corner which was headed in by Lisandro Martinez.

It looked like the game would end at 2-2 but Eddie Nketiah grabbed a winner in the final minutes of the game. It was an incredible game between two sides who are making their way back to the top. Unfortunately for Manchester United the loss meant that they are now level on points with Newcastle on 4th. Arsenal continue their journey to the Premier League title as they are 5 points ahead of Manchester City with a game in hand.
