NBA: Celtics continued their winning streak while Warriors win

(Basketball news) The Boston Celtics maintained their unbelievable start to the season after they beat the Washington Wizards 130-121. For the Celtics, Brown showed off his growth, leading the Celtics with a season-high 36 points as Malcolm Brogdon added 17 points and Derrick White finished with 15 points while starman Jayson Tatum missed his first game this season with a sprained left ankle. For the Wizards, Bradley Beal led the scoring with 30 points and Kristaps Porzingis added 21 points. With this result the Celtics improved their record to 9-1 at home as they lead the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 16-4.

”His excuse was: When everybody is telling me to slow down, the defense hears that, so I’m going to speed up.We’d be like, ‘No, that doesn’t make any sense. He’s using more of his grace now, to where he’s understanding that sometimes just be patient and let the game come to you instead of going and get it yourself” Smart recalled.

”I enjoyed just playing basketball,” Brown said. ”It’s what the season is about. There’s going to be guys in, guys out. We’ve got to be able to maintain our level of play when our big dog is not in the rotation. It was fun. It challenges everybody to step up in their roles.”

”We’ve got a lot of guys that can do a lot of things on the bench that would probably start on other teams,” White said. ”Just having that depth that can step in when we need them and make plays and do the right things out there is huge for us.”

The Golden State Warriors only won their second game away from home as they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 137-114. For the Warriors, Stephen Curry had 25 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, Jordan Poole pitched in 24 points off the bench while Klay Thompson went 5 for 8 from deep for 21 points and tied Joe Johnson (1,978) for 15th place on the NBA’s career list for 3-pointers as Andrew Wiggins added 17 points against his old team. Draymond Green had his first double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 as the Warriors went 20 for 47 from 3-point range to move above the .500 mark for the first time in a month. For the Wolves, Anthony Edwards scored 26 points while Karl-Anthony Towns added 21 points and Jaylen Nowell had 16 points off the bench.

”I’ve said for years Draymond is kind of the heartbeat of our team,” coach Steve Kerr said.

”We’ve been in a good groove lately,” Wiggins said. ”We’re playing together.”

”Steve just told us to play for each other and to simplify things and when we do that,” Thompson said, ”we’re the best in the world.”

”Teams like Golden State, you can just see it in the way that they operate,” Towns said. ”It’s a well-oiled machine. Everything they do has such cohesiveness to it, and that’s because of the time they have spent with each other.”

The other results were:

Magic 103 – 133 76ers
