Tajinderpal Singh Toor crashes out of Men’s shot put qualification after finishing 13th

(Athletics news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: The Men’s Shot Put qualifications saw 16 competitors in Group A competing for a place in the final of the Tokyo Olympics. Tajinderpal Singh Toor finished 13th with a throw of 19.99m which he achieved in his first attempt as he fouled his 2nd and 3rd attempt. Tom Walsh from New Zealand  finished first with a throw of 21.49m, Darlan Romani from Brazil finished second with a throw of 21.31m in his second attempt and Mostafa Amr Hassan from Egypt finished third with a throw of 21.23m in his third attempt. All three have confirmed their place in the final as their throws are above 21.20m and the rest of them will have to wait for Group B to finish.

The top 12 performances from two groups or throws above 21.20m will make it to the Final which will be held on 5th August.
