Manchester United’s winger rejects 3rd bid

Antony, an attacker for Manchester United, turned down yet another chance to depart Old Trafford this summer
Manchester

(Football news) Antony is one of the five-man ‘bomb squad’ who the club are desperate to offload, but apart from Marcus Rashford, the Red Devils have been unable to sell their unwanted players.

The Brazilian winger joined Manchester United from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for an eye-watering £81.3m, but he failed to justify his price tag.

The 25-year-old impressed on loan at Real Betis last season, helping them reach the Conference League final, and he is now fixated on returning to the Spanish club.

The Red Devils are reportedly refusing to sanction a temporary departure, and they have set a £30m valuation on the player, which is a massive 65 per cent drop from the price they paid for him.

Antony rejects a move to Al-Nassr

Manchester United are stuck in limbo as Betis are yet to meet the demands of Amorim’s side, while Antony is continuing to reject opportunities from elsewhere.

According to multiple sources and reports, Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr are interested in signing the former Sao Paulo winger, but Antony is unwilling to move elsewhere.

Betis are using the situation to their advantage and have reportedly informed the Red Devils that they are only willing to take the winger on loan, which includes no obligation to buy.

Big surprise that Antony has changed his stance

Antony’s agent, Junior Pedroso, previously confirmed that his client is open to moving to the Saudi Pro League.

“What I can say is that the player is on the market, and there are several clubs that want to know his current status,” was told .

“We listen to the projects and analyse them. But he is open to moving to Saudi Arabia. Anything is possible, we are looking for what is best for him.”

Antony managed 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances in all competitions, and he does not feature in Amorim’s plans – it comes as a big surprise that he rejected an opportunity to move elsewhere, not once but thrice.
