(Football news) Manchester United have a number of important players back in training following injury problems, with Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, and Kobbie Mainoo all now taking part in full sessions alongside their teammates.
Tyrell Malacia, meanwhile, played 45 minutes for the Under-21s last week, and the Netherlands international is seemingly in line to make his first appearance for the first team in almost 18 months.
Amorim was quizzed on his squad on Friday, but the Portuguese refused to commit when asked about the returning players.
Shaw is yet to play this season due to a calf problem, but the England international is back in training and has been widely tipped to make the squad for the Premier League contest at Portman Road.
Shaw, Yoro, Mainoo, and Malacia could return against Ipswich
“We have to see; we have one more training,” Amorim said. “But Luke [Shaw], for example, is feeling fine, but we have to build his fitness during games, so we have to be careful.
“I think he’s a very good player, so I will take care of him, and I want these kinds of players that are important in our squad for a long period and not just for a game.
“We have some guys returning from injury, so we had some moments together, working in that indoor pitch [on] tactical work. We have to manage the load during this week with some players from national teams [as well], but we are ready to face Ipswich.”
Man United also have doubts over the availability of two central defenders, with Lisandro Martinez pulling out of the Argentina squad due to a problem related to his hip and back, while Victor Lindelof suffered a groin issue on international duty with Sweden.
Which players are definitely out for Manchester United vs. Ipswich?
Harry Maguire is still not in training due to a calf problem, and it is unclear when the Englishman will be available for selection, but his return is not imminent, with the issue still proving to be problematic.
Toby Collyer is also missing due to a muscular problem, with the midfielder not yet back in training.
In theory, Shaw, Yoro, Mainoo, and Malacia could all be back in the squad, while Martinez may also be included, but it is thought that Lindelof’s groin issue will rule him out of contention at Portman Road.
