(Football news) India women qualified for the T20 World Cup semi final in 2nd place behind England. Despite winning 3 of their 4 group stage matches, India have not looked at their best. They will now have to be better than their best as they take on Australia. The defending champions have hammered all their opponents in the group stage. The match will be played at the Newlands Cricket Ground where India have played 2 group stage matches and won both of them while Australia haven’t played there.

India women possible playing XI:

Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur(c), Richa Ghosh (wk), Devika Vaidya, Deepti Sharma, Pooja Vastrakar, Radha Yadav, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Renuka Singh Thakur

Bench: Shikha Pandey, Harleen Deol, Yastika Bhatia, Anjali Sarvani,

India women may choose to play with only 2 seamers for this match as they have done in the previous matches at this venue. Radha Yadav is likely to come back assuming that she is fit again. It will be a tough call to leave out Shikha Pandey but 3 spinners at Newlands Cricket Ground seems to be the way to go. Pressure will be on Harmanpreet Kaur who hasn’t turned up with the willow in this tournament so far but her record against Australia is really good.

Australia women ideal playing XI:

Alyssa Healy (wk), Beth Mooney, Meg Lanning (c), Ashleigh Gardner, Ellyse Perry, Tahlia McGrath, Grace Harris, Georgia Wareham, Alana King, Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown

Bench: Annabel Sutherland, Kim Garth, Heather Graham, Jess Jonassen

Jess Jonassen sat out 3 of the 4 group stage games. Despite her experience it will be difficult to get her into the side. Australia have won all their group stage matches convincingly and their record against India especially in T20Is is incredible. India women will have to play out their skins to get the better of this team.
