(Cricket news) After getting comfortable wins over South Africa and West Indies, India women are all set to top the round robin group in the tri series. The women in blue still need to improve their batting in the powerplay as they tend to play very slow. The bowling line-up from the personnel or combination point of view also isn’t set as of yet.

Harmanpreet Kaur has a lot of thinking to do before the big tournament but the performances have been good so far. The team seems to have gotten used to the conditions which are extremely crucial. India women are missing Richa Ghosh and Shafali Verma who are playing the women’s World Cup but the others have stepped up.

India women possible playing XI:

Smriti Mandhana (c), Yastika Bhatia (wk), Harleen Deol, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Devika Vaidya, Deepti Sharma, Amanjot Kaur, Radha Yadav, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Renuka Singh Thakur

Bench: Sushma Verma, Sneh Rana, Sabbhineni Meghana, Pooja Vastrakar, Shikha Pandey, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarvani

It is pretty clear after the first two matches that India women are going to experiment and give opportunities to as many players as possible. Renuka Singh Thakur who was recently awarded the ICC Emerging Women’s cricketer of the year could come in for this game having sat out the first two encounters. Devika Vaidya is also likely to come back into the side after missing the last game. There are still doubts over Pooja Vastrakar’s fitness hence she may not play for a while.

South Africa women possible playing XI

Tazmin Brits, Laura Wolvaardt, Marizanne Kapp, Sune Luus (c), Chloe Tryon, Delmi Tucker, Nadine de Klerk, Sinalo Jafta (wk), Ayabonga Khaka, Shabnim Ismail, Nonkululeko Mlaba

Bench: Anneke Bosch, Lara Goodall, Tumi Sekhukhune, Masabata Klaas, Annerie Dercksen, Tebogo Macheke

Shabnim Ismail has sat out the first 3 games but she should come in for this one. The bowling performances of the Proteas have been decent in these 3 games. The batting was not the best in the first two games but in the last game against West Indies the opening partnership did the job which is a good sign. India’s dynamic attack is not the easiest to take down but South Africa will have to be positive in their approach.
