India have started the year with a dominant whitewash against Sri Lanka which is an incredible sign
India Vs Sri Lanka
India won the last ODI by a record 317 runs

(Cricket news) India won the ODI series against Sri Lanka 3-0 and each ODI win was very comfortable. The World Cup is coming up and this is a perfect way for the team to start it. There are a lot of positives for India to take and very few negatives. Sri Lanka may not be the most competitive team but they still had to be beaten and India managed to do that in style. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja are yet to return from their respective injuries and once they do it will just improve the team. The next series against New Zealand is going to be more challenging and better preparation.

Virat Kohli had an incredible series as he won 2 player of the match awards for 2 centuries which earned him the player of the series award. Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most centuries at home. He now has 46 ODI centuries which is just 3 less than Sachin Tendulkar who holds the record for most ODI centuries. Kohli’s return to form has been incredible and he is scoring centuries at will once again. The World Cup is the ultimate goal and Kohli’s return to form is a big boost for India. Rohit Sharma is also back amongst the runs but he needs to step up and start converting his starts into big scores.

After Shikhar Dhawan was dropped from the squad, Shubman Gill controversially took his place ahead of Ishan Kishan who scored a double century in his last ODI game. Gill proved his worth by scoring a ton in the last game and a well made 70 in the first. Mohammed Siraj’s growth in white ball cricket has been exceptional as he ended up as the highest wicket taker of the series. Mohammed Shami also bowled well and Umran Malik is also constantly improving. Kuldeep Yadav is picking up wickets in the middle overs which is making it more and more difficult to drop him in any format.
