Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri T-8th after Round 1 in the Tokyo Olympics

(Golf news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: Anirban Lahiri is playing in his second Olympics and started off strongly with a 4-under 67 in the first round at the Kasumigaseki Country Club. By the end of the first round, the former Asian Tour number 1 was Tied-8th while his countryman Udayan Mane had a difficult day in the office, carding 5-over 76 to be at the bottom – 60th.

Round 1 of the Olympic golf tournament was temporarily suspended because of a lightning storm at Kasumigaseki Country Club just before 2 pm local time. 27 out of the 60 player field were yet to finish their 18 holes and could only do so after play resumed several hours later. Austrian golfer Straka S finished in first position followed by Thailand's Janewattananond J and Pieters T of Belgium.
