What impact will Kylian Mbappe’s renewal have on PSG

(Football news) After over a year of drama and uncertainty, Kylian Mbappe has renewed his contract with PSG for 3 more years. The decision comes after months of everything indicating that he will be at Real Madrid next season. PSG seem to have really pushed the limit to keep their star man. According to reports, Mbappe's new Contract includes a £300 million signing bonus, £100 million a year salary after tax. The most important factor was that he will have a say in approving signings and sales along with appointing future coaches.

The positive impact that Kylian Mbappe will have on the club as a player will be massive. The flip side of it however is very scary for the club and could go wrong. The fact that a player, no matter how great he may be ability wise, has the sort of power Mbappe is rumoured to have is definitely not good for any dressing room. Players like Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr could now be thinking that everything will happen at the Frenchman's convenience. PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino and director Leonardo are set to leave the club and new people will be appointed in their place. Any future coach might think twice before benching Mbappe as it could cost him his job, which is a huge problem.

Managing a football club with so many different egos is difficult and to add to that there is this never seen before situation. Lionel Messi at Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid may have had this power back in the day but this time everything is very public. The fact that the duration of the contract is just 3 years despite the player being only 23 years of age shows that Mbappe hasn't committed his long term future to the club. In his interviews after the renewal, Mbappe quite clearly said that a Real Madrid move can happen in the future. The real question is whether Real Madrid would ever want Mbappe after what can be described as a public humiliation.
