UCL preview: PSG and Manchester City fight for top spot; Real Madrid seek revenge against Sheriff

(Football news) Wednesday night in the UCL has a few great fixtures in store. A few more teams are expected to book their place in the Round of 16.

Atletico Madrid will play AC Milan in a Group B grudge match at the Wanda Metropolitano and the Spanish side could enter the top 2 with a victory. Milan's chances of qualification are very bleak but they could take a big step towards a 3rd place finish which would get them into the Europa League. Atleti need a win to keep their fate in their own hands, but they will be without Joao Felix, Kieran Trippier and Felipe. As for Milan they will be without Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori, Ante Rebic, Davide Calabria and Samu Castillejo.

The other Group B match is between Liverpool and Porto at Anfield. Liverpool has already booked their spot at the top of the table after 5 wins in 5. Porto are in contention for a 2nd place finish. Porto's destiny is still in their own hands and it will stay the same no matter the result of this game. Roberto Firmino is still injured for Liverpool while Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota remain doubtful. Porto on the other hand will be without center back Ivan Marcano.

Real Madrid will be seeking revenge against Sheriff Tiraspol. The Moldovan club embarrassed Real Madrid by beating them at the Santiago Bernabeu. Carlo Ancelotti and his men will come out all guns blazing at the Bolshaya Sportivnaya Arena. Real Madrid could seal their place in the knockouts with a victory but the Los Blancos will be without Dani Ceballos, Gareth Bale, Fede Valverde and Eden Hazard. Eder Militao is likely to be back in the starting XI after missing the league win against Granada. It will be interesting to see if Ancelotti sticks with his veteran midfield trio or decides to rotate keeping fatigue and fixture constraint in mind.

The big headline fixture is at the Etihad between Manchester City and PSG. The winner of the match will seal their round of 16 spot and is likely to finish top of the group. Sergio Ramos is finally in the PSG squad for the first time since his move from Real Madrid. Although the Spaniard is not likely to start, he may get a few minutes. Rafinha and Julian Draxler are still out with injuries for PSG while Manchester City will be without Ferran Torres and Kevin De Bruyne while Jack Grealish remains a doubt.
