Tottenham Hotspur agree €29m deal with Brighton for Yves Bissouma

(Football news) Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a deal to sign midfielder Yves Bissouma for €29 million. The signing will be extra sweet for Spurs as Bissouma has been on arch rivals Arsenal's list for a long time. Signing Bissouma at such a bargain price will be a massive success for Tottenham Hotspur who have already signed Ivan Perisic for free. Spurs are not done yet as they have been linked with Pau Torres and Djed Spence.

Bissouma has been a key player for Brighton since his arrival from Lille in 2018. The Malian is a proper box to box midfielder who has the ability to dominate the midfield. Standing at 6 feet tall, Bissouma is a huge presence on the pitch who is brilliant in recovering balls. His skills in transition are a brilliant asset to any team and especially a team like Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur who play predominantly on the counter attack. His ball carrying ability isn't too bad either which is where his pace and athleticism comes into play. Graham Potter occasionally asks him to drop into the defence line which he also does well.

Tottenham Hotspur promised Antonio Conte funds and they are doing exactly that. Bissouma will be battling with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp for a place in the starting XI. In terms of pure skill level Bissouma and Bentancur are two of the best options. Conte usually plays a 3-4-3 formation where the both midfielders in the center can be box to box rather than one of them being a defensive one. Spurs are making full use of the money they got from the UCL qualification. Expectations will be higher from Antonio Conte to deliver this season as he is more than capable of it.
