Romelu Lukaku looks to end his dreadful spell with Chelsea

(Football news) Romelu Lukaku for a long time has been heavily linked with a move back to Inter Milan this summer after an underwhelming homecoming to Stamford Bridge last season. The Belgium international has struggled to acclimatise to the Premier League on his return as he found the net just eight times in 26 appearances in the competition. Lukaku's misfortune in front of goal along with an explosive interview in December, where he said he’s still in contact with his former Inter colleagues, really casted a doubt over his future at Chelsea. He's still quite highly rated as he has still managed to garner healthy interest in his services from several top European sides.

The Blues have given the green light for him to leave the club as Lukaku reportedly wants to cut ties with Thomas Tuchel.  Inter have shown an eagerness to lure the Belgian back to the San Siro as Chelsea are seeking to finalise a loan move that relinquishes the west London club of the striker's services and they can go and buy a suitable replacement for him. The current deal on the table is being held up by Inter chief Zhang, who is not ready to meet the demands of Chelsea. The report says that the Blues want a guarantee of €10million and also expect the Italian giants to cover the full salary of the Player

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi is in favour of welcoming back Lukaku, but Zhang isn't convinced by the high loan fee. Talks are set to continue as the Inter board are trying to negotiate the transfer fee for the Chelsea striker who wants nothing to do with Tuchel's side anymore. Ahead of the FA Cup final, Tuchel spoke on Lukaku's future and explained that the club would be willing to evaluate the situation. Lukaku in December only asked his lawyer to check the possibility of a possible return to the San Siro The striker is set to hold talks with Todd Boehly and senior figures at the club ahead of making his expected exit. The Chelsea board have already shortlisted Raheem Sterling as their number one target to replace Lukaku at Chelsea. City are demanding somewhere around  €35-40 for the England international.

"I think if he plans to talk with the owner, maybe it is not his plan to talk with me. It's fair enough. Let's see if he gets a meeting! It is his right. We will talk to anybody," Thomas Tuchel said of the £59m-rated striker. "We will evaluate any situation of any player, including Romelu. We will see what is going to happen and what the plans are."

“It’s a feasible path, but there are some difficulties and we need to evaluate whether there’s a chance to make it. We won’t announce Lukaku’s return today.

“Lukaku and Dybala are our targets, but we need to consider financial issues. We are in talks with these two players and we’ll be happy if we sign them. If not, we’ll consider different targets. The single player is not important, what matters is the group and this is already a solid team.” said Beppe Marotta;
