RMA keep 100% record intact while FCB and ATM get comfortable wins

(Football news) In Barcelona's away match against Cadiz, Xavi named a 2nd string XI with Pedri, Ousmane Dembele and Robert Lewandowski all on the bench. Memphis Depay and Hector Bellerin were handed their first starts of the season. The Blaugrana still ended up winning 4-0 and extended their win streak to 5 games after their draw in the first match. Barcelona dominated the game and had so many chances but they weren't clinical enough in the first half. It took the visitors 54 minutes to break the deadlock via Frenkie De Jong. Lewandowski, Ansu Fati and Dembele scored to assert Barcelona's domination. The win means that Xavi is now unbeaten in 17 away games with Barcelona which equals Zinedine Zidane's record at Real Madrid. Xavi will have an opportunity to break the record when the Catalan club travels to Mallorca in October.

Atlético Madrid defeated Celta Vigo 4-1 at the Wanda Metropolitano. Jan Oblak had a knock and hence Ivo Grbic started in goal while Koke and Joao Felix were left on the bench. The home side took the lead inside 9 minutes as Angel Correa scored on his first start of the season. It was not the most convincing 1st half performance by Atleti but they did have the lead. The 2nd half was much better as Rodrigo de Paul and Yannick Carrasco scored. Celta did pull one goal back via Gabriel Veiga but Unai Nunez's own put the game to bed. Atlético Madrid are now 6th on the table level on points with Athletic Club and Villarreal.

Real Madrid had to work hard for a 4-1 win against Mallorca at home. Carlo Ancelotti started with a midfield of Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos and Fede Valverde. Luka Modric, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Carvajal were all benched. Los Blancos controlled the majority of the game but it was the visitors who took the lead in the 35th minute. Vedat Muriqi was left unmarked during Kang-In Lee's free-kick and the striker stunned the Bernabéu as he opened the scoring. Fede Valverde equalised just before half time with a goal that is one of the best goals of the season. The Uruguayan dribbled past a few Mallorca players before smashing in a left footed shot from the edge of the box into the top left corner. Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo scored two sumptuous goals to make it 3-1 to Real Madrid. Antonio Rudiger scored his first Real Madrid goal in the dying minutes as Real Madrid got their 7th win of the season in as many games.
