Real Madrid set to offload upto 7 to significantly reduce wage bill

(Football news) The end of this season promises to be the end of an era at Real Madrid. The potential arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland will see new Galacticos being introduced at the Bernabeu. For that to happen, some old ones will definitely have to make way. There is a high chance that there will be some serious offloading for the Los Blancos this summer.

It is pretty clear by now that Carlo Ancelotti only trusts about 15 to 16 players in the squad. Others aren't even being used as substitutes for a long time now. The obvious departures are Gareth Bale, Isco and Marcelo who are all out of contract at the end of the summer. There are no signs that any of them will be offered a new deal to extend their stay in the summer which might be the right thing to do from the clubs point of view.

All three of them have been legends in their own right at Real Madrid. The trio have won 4 Champions Leagues in the royal whites and have produced some extraordinary and memorable moments in their time. They haven't been at their best for the last 2 or 3 seasons but have won many games for Real Madrid before that. The best farewell gift for them would be the La Liga and the Champions League trophy at the end of the season.

Other players who could be sold for some money are Eden Hazard, Dani Ceballos and Luka Jovic all of whom are rumoured to be frustrated with their lack of game. Mariano Diaz on the other hand wants to stay at the Bernabéu to see out his contract whereas Real Madrid want to offload him as soon as possible. Luka Modric's contract is also running out at the end of the season but his performances on the pitch indicate that he will get another 1 year extension and rightly so.

All these departures take a massive load off the wage bill. The funds could then go towards signing Mbappe and Haaland along with a few others. Next season, Real Madrid could integrate a lot of the academy products who have been in and out of the first team like Antonio Blanco, Marvin Park, Sergio Arribas, Miguel Gutierrez and Peter Federico. Buyback clauses of Sergio Reguilon and/or Fran Garcia could be exercised to replace club captain Marcelo at left back. Brahim Diaz, Alvaro Odriozola and Takefusa Kubo could also be called back from their respective loans.
