Real Madrid host Getafe; Barcelona and Atlético Madrid travel away

(Football news) After a thrilling 3-1 win against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge, Real Madrid prepare to host Getafe. Los Blancos will have to fight fatigue in order to keep their 12 point lead in La Liga intact. Getafe who are 14th on the table are in a decent run, having got 2 impressive draws against Valencia and Athletic Club followed by a win against Mallorca. Eder Militao picked up a knock against Chelsea but should be fit to start considering he is suspended for the 2nd leg against the Blues. Eden Hazard is still out of contention while Luka Jovic and Isco will be available. Even though Carlo Ancelotti clearly doesn't believe in rotations he might be forced to do so as they will face Chelsea again next week.

Atletico Madrid will play Mallorca away from home after their tough 1-0 loss away at Manchester City. Mallorca are in a tough relegation battle after losing their last 7 games. They desperately need some points to get out of the 18th position. Real Madrid loanee Takefusa Kubo will play a pivotal role against Atleti. The Rojiblancos have won their last 6 La Liga games and will be looking for another win to take the momentum into the return leg against Manchester City. Hector Herrara is still out with injury while Angel Correa is suspended.

Barcelona drew against Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday in what was a disappointing performance. Xavi's men will be looking to bounce back against Levante away from home. Levante are heading towards relegation as they are 19th on the table. In the last matchday, they did get an impressive 2-0 win over Villarreal and a win against Barcelona would be a massive boost. Barcelona will be without Sergino Dest, Sergi Roberto, Memphis Depay and Luuk De Jong while Ansu Fati could return to the bench. A loss could derail Barcelona's season as it would increase the point gap and also affect the confidence before the return leg against Frankfurt.
