Neal Maupay is set to join Nottingham Forest for a fee £15m

(Football news) Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks with Brighton to bring striker Neal Maupay to the City Ground to make him the club's 12th signing of the summer. According to reports today, the Reds are keen to bring Maupay to the club and have agreed a fee for the striker. It’s believed somewhere around the £15m mark might be enough for Forest to tempt the Seagulls into their french striker

However, there are no personal terms agreed with Forest and Maupay as the striker arrived at the AMEX from Brentford for around £20m three seasons ago and has had a mixed time with Brighton since his arrival. Forest, meanwhile, are causing quite the stir in the transfer market this summer as they have added more than ten players to their squad and have spent over £100m, including taking on big wages for the likes of Jesse Lingard and Dean Henderson on short term deals. Steve Cooper spoke this weekend of the club’s transfer strategy and insisted that it’s been considered and reinforcements were needed.

The good thing about Neal Maupay is that he has ample Premier League experience at the top of the pitch. Forest will need to score goals if they are to stay up and while Taiwo Awoniyi is a young striker who did ok this weekend but the Reds will need more options upfront. Maupay has produced some very good performances for Brighton and while there has been inconsistencies, he will be more than welcomed at the City Ground. Forest are really going all out for it this summer and it’s quite admirable. Cooper’s job will be to get these players playing as a unit.
