Memphis and Haaland were on fire as Denmark ran riot

(Football news) As the final stretch of international matches are taking place, there have been plenty of moments to keep the audience engrossed in matchweek 6. The French finally broke off their winless streak and Portugal also maintained their winning run without Ronaldo.

Netherlands won 6-1 against Turkey in what was a rampant performance from the Dutch. Louis Van Gaal's first home match after returning back couldn’t have gone much better as his side completely dominated them. The dutch were ahead after just 54 seconds after Davy Klaassen scored but the show stopper was Memphis Depay who scored a brilliant hattrick. Later on, the substitutes Guus Til and Donyell Malen completed the rout .The only blip in the performance would be the injury concern for Virgil Van Dijk as Liverpool fans will be hopeful that it isn’t serious. With this result Netherlands leapfrog Turkey to take the lead in Group G as they have 13 points from 6 matches.

Norway beat Gibraltar 5-1 to go level on top with the Dutch in Group G. The Norwegian looked at their rampant best as Erling Haaland continued his early goal scoring form by scoring a wonderful hat-trick, the performance was rounded off by Alexander Sorloth and Kristian Thorstvedt to put the Norwegians in a comfortable position to qualify for the World Cup next year. With this win it takes Norway to 13 points from 6 matches in Group G.

France won 2-0 against Finland to end their 5 match winless streak, Dider Deschamps side finally looked like the World Champions as they completely dominated the Fins from the kick off. France broke the deadlock through Antoine Griezmann after beautifully curling the ball in the corner, it was Griezmann again who doubled the lead for Les Bleus’ to put the final nail in the coffin for Finland. After this victory, France extended their lead in Group D as they have 12 points from 6 matches.

Portugal won 3-0 against Azerbaijan as their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo was suspended for this match. Fernando Santos' side stamped their authority from the get go as Bernado Silva scored a wonderful goal from a Bruno Fernandes cross to give them a much deserved lead. The performance was rounded off by Andre Silva and Diego Jota who helped Portugal reach 13 points from 6 matches to take a two point lead over the Serbians in Group A

Denmark won 5-0 against Israel to maintain a perfect record in the World cup qualifiers. At this moment Denmark are the best side in the qualifiers as they have scored 20 goals and not conceded a single goal in 6 matches. Denmark have just continued their magnificent form from the Euros, they ran riot over the Israelis as goals from Poulsen, Kjaer, Skov Olsen, Delaney and Cornelius have almost guaranteed them a place in the World Cup next year. With this win the Danish have 18 points from 6 matches in Group F
