Mbappe and Halaand fire their teams to victory on UCL opening day

(Football news) Manchester City defeated Sevilla 4-0 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. Pep Guardiola was missing the services of a few players but it didn't matter as City dominated the entire game with 62% possession. Erling Haaland marked his Manchester City UCL debut with two goals. Phil Foden and Ruben Diaz scored the other two goals while Kevin De Bruyne, Joao Cancelo and Phil Foden were the assist providers. Haaland now has 12 goals in 7 Manchester City matches and 25 UCL goals in 20 matches making him the fastest player to reach the feat. The defeat is very costly for Sevilla and manager Julen Lopetegui is living on borrowed time. Erling Haaland's incredible record at Manchester City continues as he once again dominated the game.

City have had a decent start to the season despite their two surprising draws against Aston Villa and Newcastle. Haaland is looking more and more dangerous with every game while De Bruyne's game is also at its peak. This point of the season is when City's bench strength comes into play. Manuel Akanji had a decent debut as he kept a clean sheet while Phil Foden and Joao Cancelo were lethal for City in attack. City have a tough week coming up with matches against Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund.

PSG got the better of Juventus with a 2-1 win in Paris. It took PSG only 5 minutes to break the deadlock as Kylian Mbappe scored some brilliant link up play with Neymar. Just 16 minutes later Mbappe was set up by Achraf Hakimi as PSG took a 2-0 lead. Weston McKennie did pull a goal back in the 2nd half after Gianluigi Donnarumma came out to the corner but didn't manage to get anywhere near the ball. PSG managed to hold onto the lead and start their campaign with a win. The French side now looks really set under Christophe Galtier. Juventus on the other hand played well in patches but in the end were just outclassed by PSG's attacking prowess.

Juventus' season is off to a dreadful start and it wouldn't be long before Massimiliano Allegri's job is on the line. They have spent a good amount of money in the transfer window but their performances have been underwhelming. PSG on the other hand are yet to lose a game this season and look very solid. Juventus play Benfica in the next matchday while PSG take on Maccabi Haifa.
