Jose Mourinho set to complete massive Paulo Dybala signing for AS Roma

(Football news) In May the football world was shocked when Paulo Dybala announced that he won't be renewing his Juventus contract. Dybala had been incredibly successful at Juventus but the club and the player's entourage couldn't come close to an agreement over a new contract. The Argentine was immediately linked with a move to Inter Milan but the talks broke down. Now according to multiple reliable reports, Dybala is said to have agreed a 3 year contract with AS Roma. Jose Mourinho has played a big role in the negotiations as he has convinced the player to come to Rome despite the absence of Champions League football.

This will be an incredible signing for AS Roma and that too for free. Roma last year broke their 14 year trophy drought as they won the UEFA Conference League under Mourinho and it was also their first ever success in a major European tournament. Now Roma will take the next step in becoming a European powerhouse. The fact that Mourinho has managed to convince Dybala to give up UCL football shows how much the player must have been impressed with the manager's plan. Dybala has the ability to play in any of the front three positions as well as the number 10 position. How he plays in tandem with Tammy Abraham will be interesting to see. Mourinho is likely to build the team around Dybala which will get the best out of him.

Dybala has been struggling with injuries for the past two seasons or so. He is still only 28 years old and yet to hit his prime. The Argentine needs to be managed well and who better to do that then one of the greatest managers of all time. Dybala's technical ability and agility is his biggest strength. He has the ability to score 15+ goals in a season and create goal scoring opportunities at the same time. Roma have already signed Nemanja Matic, Mile Svilar and Mehmet Zeki Celik. The signing of Dybala would make it a very successful window for the Italian club. Luis Muriel and Mario Pasalic among others are also linked with a move to the Italian capital.
