Is Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid career over after recent injury?

(Football news) Gareth Bale has picked up an injury on international duty with Wales once again. The Welshman has damaged his calf in the World Cup qualifiers against Belarus. He is expected to be out for about three weeks but it wouldn't be a surprise if it takes more time.

Gareth Bale hasn't played for Real Madrid since 29th August. He injured himself during the international break and recovered just in time before the next international break. This isn't the first time something like this has happened with Bale. There have been cases in the past where Bale has played with full fitness for Wales but not for Real Madrid. Bale has received a lot of backlash from the Spanish media and the Bernabeu faithfuls after his recent setback.

Before his injury there were rumours that Los Blancos are planning to sell Bale in January to get him off the wage bill. The rumours may now turn out to be true. There is a strong possibility that Bale may never play in a Real Madrid shirt ever again. There are absolutely no doubts that Bale will not stay at the club after his contract runs out in June 2022. But now by the looks of it he might leave way before that.

Bale has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur once again with Antonio Conte reportedly interested in the Welshman. Other than that the possible options lie in the USA and Qatar. There have also been rumours about Bale wanting to retire after the 2022 World Cup if Wales qualify. Currently Wales have to go through the playoffs in order to make it to Qatar.
